Mt Nebo, Mt Glorious, and Northbrook Parkway form a trio of driving roads in the D'Aguilar Range, just 30 minutes from Brisbane CBD. Together, they offer the best day drive in Queensland — and arguably the best urban-accessible driving roads in Australia.
Mt Nebo Road climbs from The Gap through 15 kilometres of tight, technical bends through subtropical rainforest. The canopy closes overhead, the road surface is excellent, and the corners demand precision. This is not a road for speed — it is a road for technique, for late apexes and smooth transitions.
Mt Glorious Road continues from Mt Nebo through more open terrain, with longer sweepers and views across the Somerset Valley. The character changes — where Mt Nebo is intimate and technical, Mt Glorious is flowing and rhythmic. The Maiala section of D'Aguilar National Park offers short rainforest walks and picnic areas.
Northbrook Parkway descends from Mt Glorious to the Wivenhoe-Somerset Road in a series of fast, open curves through open forest. This is the dessert — after the technical starter and the flowing main course, the Parkway offers speed and space.
