The route
This verified 463-mile, four-day Austin circuit crosses the eastern Hill Country through Johnson City and Enchanted Rock before reaching Fredericksburg. It then runs west through Kerrville, Medina and Vanderpool to Leakey, devotes a complete day to Ranch Roads 335, 336 and 337, and returns to Austin through Bandera and Boerne. The route is built as four measured stages, so the mileage now matches the roads members actually receive.
The Twisted Sisters demand more judgment than speed. Expect blind corners, livestock, motorcycles, flood debris, steep grades and long sections without dependable service. Check DriveTexas and local weather immediately before departure, download the route offline, begin the remote stages with adequate fuel or charge and stay entirely inside your lane. Enchanted Rock can reach capacity and requires reservations on many busy dates. San Antonio remains a worthwhile optional extension, but it is not included in the 463-mile total.
