Isle of Man TT Circuit
Drive the world's most famous motorcycle race course — including a 21 km section with no speed limit.
Isle of Man TT Circuit
The Isle of Man TT is the most dangerous motorsport event in the world — and you can drive the actual course on public roads. The Snaefell Mountain Course is a 60-kilometre circuit that climbs from Douglas on the coast, over the 621-metre Snaefell mountain, and back through villages, glens, and coastal sections that have been raced on since 1911.
What makes the Isle of Man unique among British driving destinations is the Mountain Road — a 21-kilometre section between the Bungalow and Creg-ny-Baa that has no speed limit. This is not an oversight; the Isle of Man has its own parliament (the Tynwald, the world's oldest continuous parliament) and sets its own traffic laws. On the Mountain Road, the national speed limit simply does not apply.
The course itself is a masterclass in variety. From the start at the Grandstand in Douglas, the road passes through residential streets, climbs through the Snaefell mountain section with its sweeping open bends, descends through the tight corners of Ramsey, and returns along the coast. Every type of road surface, camber, and challenge is represented.
Even at sensible speeds, driving the TT course is a pilgrimage for motorsport enthusiasts. The Manx Museum in Douglas and the TT Gallery tell the story of over a century of racing. During TT fortnight in late May and early June, the island transforms — but the course is available to drive year-round.
""There is nowhere else on Earth where you can drive a public road with no speed limit, on a course where the world's bravest racers have competed for over a century.""

Douglas
TT Start Line
Begin your journey at the iconic TT Grandstand on Glencrutchery Road in Douglas, the historic start and finish line for every legendary Isle of Man TT race since 1911. This hallowed ground is where motorsport history has been made for over a century, witnessing countless triumphs and heart-stopping moments. Before embarking on your drive, immerse yourself in the rich heritage of the island's racing culture at the nearby Manx Museum and the dedicated TT Gallery. These institutions offer invaluable context, showcasing the evolution of the races, the daring riders, and the unique challenges of the Snaefell Mountain Course. Explore exhibits detailing the engineering marvels of the bikes, the personal stories of the champions, and the profound impact the TT has had on the Isle of Man. Understanding this legacy will undoubtedly deepen your appreciation for the roads you are about to traverse, transforming a simple drive into a pilgrimage through motorsport's most thrilling chapters. Take your time to absorb the atmosphere, visualize the roaring engines, and prepare for an unforgettable experience on the very tarmac where legends were forged. The Grandstand area itself is a vibrant hub, especially during race season, but even in quieter times, it resonates with the echoes of speed and glory, offering a perfect starting point for your adventure.

Snaefell Mountain
No Speed Limit Zone
Ascend to the majestic Snaefell Mountain, the highest point on the Isle of Man, where the legendary Mountain Road carves its way to the Bungalow at an elevation of 400 meters. This exhilarating 21 km section is famously free of speed limits, offering a truly unique driving experience that is both challenging and incredibly rewarding. As you traverse the flanks of Snaefell, prepare to be captivated by panoramic vistas that, on a clear day, stretch across five kingdoms: England, Scotland, Ireland, Wales, and the Isle of Man itself. The landscape here is dramatic and untamed, characterized by sweeping moorlands and rugged peaks. While the freedom of no speed limit is a thrill, drivers are encouraged to exercise caution, as the mountain weather can change rapidly, and sheep often graze freely by the roadside. This segment of the TT course is where the true spirit of Manx motoring comes alive, blending breathtaking natural beauty with the raw excitement of an unrestricted road. Take a moment at the summit to soak in the unparalleled views and reflect on the rich history of racing that has unfolded on these very roads. It's an experience that transcends mere driving, becoming a profound connection to the island's heritage and its wild, beautiful heart.
Morning — 11:00am
Open mountain road. No speed limit. Exposed to weather. Sheep on the road.
