The route
This verified coastal route starts at Crystal Cove State Park, follows Pacific Coast Highway into Laguna Beach, links Heisler Park with the central art district, then continues through Victoria Beach to Dana Point Harbor.
Parking, pedestrian activity and beach traffic shape the schedule more than mileage. Secure legal parking before exploring each stop and never use a roadside shoulder as a viewpoint. Tide pools and beaches require current tide, surf and park-access checks.
The coast is drivable year-round. Weekdays outside summer usually provide a calmer experience, although marine fog, winter storms and special events can alter visibility and access.
